[homeschoolhub] Used Learning Materials Sale & Curriculum Show-off

Lakeshore Lifelong Learners

Annual Used Learning Material Sale & Curriculum Show-Off!

Please share!  All homeschoolers are invited to participate in Lakeshore Lifelong Learners Annual Learning Material Sale & Curriculum Show-Off!  We are very grateful this year for the use of  Lakeshore Baptist Church and would like to be able to give a small donation to the church as a thank you.  Therefore, we are suggesting a small donation of a dollar or two per family in attendance.

When:  Thurs June 12th 1:30 - 3:30

Used Learning Materials Sale:  This can include but is not limited to: textbooks, curriculum, science kits & items, manipulative, puzzles, board or card games, books, reference books, videos & computer software. Anything with a learning edge to it is acceptable.

Curriculum Show Off:  Do you have a favorite learning resource or curriculum you could have on display. If each person brings just two things we will have a nice collection of things to review. There will be a tables set aside for just these items not included in the sale.  Your items will remain on those tables to be sure they are not confused with sale items. (Please label items with a post-it note on the front that says Not for Sale and with your name)

To Purchase Items: It will be helpful if you come with smaller bills. (and maybe your checkbook).

To Sell Items: It's okay to have just a few, or boxes of things to sell, trade or to give away. Please email to reserve your table and for complete instructions.  Mary Ann – lakeshorelifelonglearners@hotmail.com

Location:  Lakeshore Baptist Church, 5411 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville, MI 49127

(Located between John Beers and Marquette Woods Roads)

We will have many tables to set up and then put away, if you are willing to help please let me know – lakeshorelifelonglearners@hotmail.com

[homeschoolhub] File - Important Info

This post will go out each month as a reminder. Just delete it once you have it memorized. :-)

First, you can access the website at hshub.org. It is FULL of info on local groups, homeschooling, contests, scholarships, how to make your own free/nearly free individualized curriculum, fun youtube videos, etc. If you haven't been there in a while, check it out! New homeschoolers might especially find this article useful: http://hshub.org/New_to_Homeschooling_.html

Second, if you haven't signed up for the weekly email newsletter, YOU ARE MISSING OUT! It is full of events, field trips, activities, scholarships, volunteer opportunities, etc. for families. To sign up, go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HUBnewsletter/ OR send an email to the following address: HUBnewsletter-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

Third, the Homeschool HUB is a volunteer organization. We need local homeschool support to continue to function. Please consider helping out. You can serve on the board, teach a class, organize a play group, organize a field trip, teach a one-night workshop (on anything--cooking pizza, using Prezi or MS Word, painting, martial arts, dog breeds, Chinese culture...), throw a party, host a Shakespeare club, give a talk, or anything else you can think of. If you're interested in something, chances are another homeschooler will be, too.

Thank you!
