[homeschoolhub] Two Bach Cantatas to be performed with symphony orchestra, openings

 

exist for singers, particularly male age 15 and up.

Performance is to happen at Trinity Lutheran Church Saint Joseph, MI on Sunday, May 20, 2012 with rehearsals on the following dates:

Sunday, April 22
Sunday, April 29
Sunday, May 6
Sunday, May 13
Performance May 20 (choir call 1:45p)

Jonathan Busarow, tenor, is currently serving at his alma mater, Valparaiso University, as the Director of the Valparaiso University Chorale, Men's Choir, Bach Choir, and instructor of voice as a sabbatical replacement for his mentor Dr. Christopher M. Cock. Jonathan has served at several churches in Ohio and Indiana. Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Valparaiso University, and a Masters in Music degree in Choral Conducting from The Ohio State University as well as a Kodály Certification through the Kodály Institute at Capital University. Jonathan has studied voice with Kenneth Scheffel, Christopher Cock and Loretta Robinson. He has studied conducting with Christopher Cock, Dennis Friesen-Carper, Lenki Igo, Robert J. Ward, and Hilary Apfelstadt.

The 5:30 show is sold out. The 6:30 show still has about 25 seats left for anyone interested.

You would have to pay for both shows, so for 4 people going to both shows that will be $16.  If you are Ok.. with that then I'll put you down for 4 seats per show.  Your 2 year old will be a lapsitter.  Let me know for sure about one or both shows.  You can send a check to me at 1902 s Carlisle St. Southbend In. 46613

[homeschoolhub] Robotics competition- some help is eagerly desired!

 

How many of you remember the FIRST Robotics competition at Niles High
School last year? Cool, wasn't it?? MANY of the volunteers drove a
long time from across the state to help. This year we have a few more
local volunteers, but right now we have two things we could really use
local help with: First is field and pit area setup/teardown. No
technical experience is required, just a willingness to haul and
follow directions. The teams and non-local volunteers can't help with
this, since the field comes in on a Wednesday, and they won't arrive
until Thursday. It comes down Saturday night, but they have to leave
Saturday afternoon to get their kids home.
Secondly, we need to feed these volunteers who have, in most cases,
taken a day off work and sacrificed their weekend to help our
students. If you'd be willing to bring a crockpot full of soup on
Saturday for lunch, please let me know! It can be anything you'd like.
Let's show them how great this community is! Please plan to come watch
the fun!

March 21 is the field setup date. March 24 is the day we need soup. Thanks!
